Co founder of A-1 Striping & Paving Co. Company specializes in repairing and constructing parking lots and buildings. Other areas of work include striping, sweeping, and ADA consultation. Before selling the company in late 2000, revenues reached approximately $10 million per year with an employee base of about 70. Currently employed by A-1 Striping & Paving to assist in sales and general consultation.

Real Estate Asset Manager / Vice President,
March 1989 - October 1992

Oversaw the leasing and management of 26 properties having a total value in excess of $60 million. Duties included: supervising broker activities, negotiating business and legal lease terms, preparing tenant financial reviews, coordinating building management activities, arranging property renovations and overseeing the litigation and settlement of law suits. Portfolio included (among others) the following properties:

  • Lyric Center - 380,000 s.f. downtown Houston office building
  • Northpoint Central - 176,000 s.f. Houston suburban office building
  • Clear Lake I/II - 50,000 s.f. office building and 33,000 s.f. retail center located in Clear Lake, Texas
  • Pallas Hotel - 100 room hotel located in Nacogdoches, Texas
  • The Commons at the Parkway - 109,000 s.f. suburban retail center located in Houston

Real Estate Problem-Loan Officer,
January 1988 - February 1989

Worked out distressed real estate loans. Responsibilities included: restructuring and extending loans, consulting with attorneys, analyzing financial information, reviewing loan documentation and coordinating foreclosure proceedings.

Real Estate Loan Officer,
October 1985 - December 1987

Managed a portfolio of new and existing real estate loans. Duties included servicing over $150 million in existing loans, analyzing and documenting new loans, participating in bank examinations, reviewing appraisals and preparing discounted cash flow models.

 

Real Estate Development:

JDR Cable Systems, January 2000 - Leased and constructed a 78,000 s.f. tilt wall office/manufacturing facility on the Sam Houston Tollway near Tanner for JDR Cable Systems. Sold the building in March 2001.

Domino’s Pizza, August 1998 - Present - Leased and constructed (or in the process of constructing) 15 freestanding Domino’s Pizza buildings located through out Texas.

Southshore Crossing Shopping Center, April 1995 - Constructed and subsequently leased a 7,800 s.f. multi tenant shopping center located on FM 518 in League City, Texas. Assembled an investor group to serve as the required equity. Sold the building in July 2001.
